Description
Medical management of PAH is complex. It is important to treat PAH patients aggressively with using correct methodology in follow-up. Despite treatment advances, survival is still poor. Based on the REVEAL registry, roughly 50% survival at 7 years. Thus, it is important that we choose the correct treatment option with objective risk assessment to identify responders vs nonresponders. Treatment of PAH is an evolving paradigm with a shift from sequential to upfront combination therapy. This is yet to be determined if upfront triple combination will be a game changer or not.
Learning Objective 1
The audience will learn about the combination treatment strategy in this session. Is upfront triple combination superior to dual combination?
Learning Objective 2
Discover why PAH survival has remained poor despite newer agent discoveries over the last two decades. Are we left with different permutations/combinations of the existing drugs or is there anything promising on the horizon?
