Description
Digital revolution over the last decade has helped with big data collection in healthcare, and effective means of storage. Computer-aided diagnostics is an emerging field in medical diagnostics. It employs various methods of machine learning (ML), such as deep, supervised, and semi-supervised learning, to analyze datasets and derive conclusion based on algorithmic, high-level abstraction. Various groups around the world have developed deep learning models for early detection and disease progression in diseases such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung nodules. This section will introduce newer ML-based techniques and its integration into clinical practice.
Learning Objective 1
Identify machine-learning techniques available for detection of airway-related lung diseases.
Learning Objective 2
Describe newer techniques for pulmonary parenchymal lung disease.
