Description

There are established although somewhat controversial CT-scan-based criteria that enable a specific diagnosis of usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP). Utilizing case-based discussion, key concepts in HRCT imaging suggesting the presence of a specific histopathologic ILD diagnoses (eg, NSIP, RB-ILD, HP, etc) will be reviewed.

Learning Objective 1

To clarify existing CT scan criteria diagnostics of UIP and illustrate some of the potential problems in their application and ways that they can be improved.

Learning Objective 2

To illustrate and discuss the CT scan findings that indicate the presence of fibrosis and their histopathologic correlates.
