Description
Accurate staging directly impacts patient management and prognosis. This case-based interactive discussion session will review specific aspects of lung cancer diagnosis and staging guidelines in the context of challenging clinical scenarios. The following questions will be tackled: 1) Assessment of the pretest probability of malignancy for pulmonary nodules, and selection of next diagnostic test; 2) The utility of bronchoscopic mediastinal staging in patients with known or suspected NSCLC; 3) The approach to tissue acquisition in peripheral lung nodule sampling; and 4) Diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to malignant pleural disease.
